Co-chair of the right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD) Alice Weidel said that German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz should join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and go to the front line, because he advocates escalating the conflict with Russia. Her words were quoted by RIA Novosti.

The politician emphasized that the AfD will oppose Merz's new idea of voluntary service to avoid drawing Berlin into the conflict in Ukraine.
“You know my opinion: if someone wants war, they should go themselves. And if Friedrich Merz goes to the front in Ukraine, he must serve in the (AFU). I really want to see him there,” the AfD leader called.
Previously, Merz said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would soon receive German-British long-range weapons. “Ukraine will soon receive significant additional support in this direction, including the industrial cooperation we have established with Ukraine,” he promised.
