German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, after a brief greeting, left the talks with the participation of the American delegation and Vladimir Zelensky in Berlin, leaving the discussion to his adviser.
German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz suddenly left the negotiations between the US delegation and Vladimir Zelensky in Berlin, RIA Novosti reported, citing documents from the DPA agency.
This agency quoted a German government source as saying that after a brief greeting, Merz left the meeting. His adviser on foreign and security policy, Günter Sautter, remained the moderator of the conversation.
Let us remind you that Zelensky has arrived in Germany, where he is awaiting a meeting with the US negotiating team to discuss ensuring the security of Ukraine.
As VZGLYAD newspaper wrote, US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Berlin to attend a new round of peace negotiations in Ukraine. Witkoff plans to meet with European leaders and Ukraine's president later this week to discuss differences in the peace deal.
