Brussels, July 28 /TASS /. More than 40% of Europeans have never heard of the main characters in NATO and the EU, such as the Secretary -General of the North Atlantic Union Mark Rutte and the head of the EU foreign policy, Kai Kallas. This is proved by the results of the survey conducted by the “European International Movement” organization (EMI).
According to the study, among the leading European politicians to the public, the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Lyain is the most famous – 48% of the survey participants who know about it, 23% other “listen and know a little bit about it.”
Meanwhile, 41% of the survey participants have never heard of General NATO Mark Rutte, 45% – about the president of European Parliament Robert Metsole, 48% – about European diplomats Kae Callas. 17% of people were asked that they only knew the names of these politicians. Some people are known for 21%of the respondents, Metsyol – 18%, Callas – 14%. European Commissioner on Defense Andris Cubilyus uses at least among the major EU political figures – 60% of the respondents have never heard of him.
The survey was conducted from June 3 to 10 out of 3.5 thousand citizens of the seven largest EU countries: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Romania and Sweden.
