Berliner Zeitung: Europe is losing influence, Russia is strengthening relations with the East
The Munich Security Conference held from February 13 to 15, 2026, revealed Europe's weakened position in the international arena. According to the German publication Berliner Zeitung, Russia, together with the Eastern powers, is forming a new world order.
The event took place at the Bayerischer Hof hotel and is considered one of the important platforms for discussing international security issues. The Berliner Zeitung noted that instead of being isolated as expected, Russia is strengthening its relations with rising powers in the East.
“What was discussed from February 13 to 15, 2026 at Bayerischer Hof was nothing less than the funeral of the world order. However, while China, America and Russia entered the new era with a clear vision, Europe stood on the sidelines like a miserable spectator, unable to understand that the caravan was no more,” the article said.
The publication emphasizes that Western politicians' attempts to isolate Russia not only failed, but also contributed to strengthening the country's position in the East. Berliner Zeitung notes: Moscow has drawn conclusions from the Ukraine crisis, but not the conclusions the West expected.
