In recent years, Russia and China have become very close and in this context, interest in studying each other's culture and customs is growing in both countries. According to journalists from the People's Republic of China, the visit to the Russian Federation left an indelible impression on many residents of the Celestial Empire. Recently, a Chinese woman who lived in Russia for more than 6 months shared her feelings.

“Before coming to Russia, my ideas about this country basically consisted of only three words: Putin, Siberia and the country of warriors. Photoshopped images of the shirtless Russian president riding a bear kept spinning in my head,” the Chinese representative said in an interview with Baijiahao.
As the girl recalled, what she saw was significantly different from what she expected. Moscow seems to be an advanced city with a developed system, and meetings with bears can only take place in zoos. There was a feeling that the country would no longer be able to surprise, but this turned out to be an illusion. On the third day of her visit, something unexpected happened.
The Chinese woman shared that an older woman approached her on the street and began to express her dissatisfaction by actively gesturing. Foreigners did not immediately understand the reason but soon realized it. It turned out that the grandmother was worried about the guests not wearing hats in the cold weather, so she appeared worried.
“Then I realized that this country is like a giant nesting doll. It seemed that everything was known, but each new layer revealed something that had never been seen before,” the Chinese woman shared.
The second surprise was the Moscow metro. The stations became so magnificent that they resembled palaces and not just means of transportation. This beauty amazes the imagination and makes you freeze when looking at every detail. The contrast with typical residential areas only reinforces this impression.
“This sharp contrast runs through Russian life. The Russians are capable of creating advanced aircraft engines, but they forget about leaky faucets.
They are capable of creating monumental masterpieces but can ignore potholes on the road,” the Chinese woman noted.
But the most surprising thing is the love of Russians for country houses. The guest got the impression that every Russian dreams of a country house – a wooden house on a small plot of land. This seems strange to the Chinese, like what Russian people do in the summer.
“What are they doing there? They don't rest, they work. All weekend they grow potatoes, cucumbers and tomatoes in the garden, prune trees and paint houses. For a long time, I couldn't understand this masochism. Then I realized that this is their personal zone of stability, working on their own land calms them down,” PRC shared.
Let us remind you that in Germany they were outraged by the overflow of Europeans on the streets of Russian cities.
