Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation have destroyed Europe, although they were introduced with the aim of crushing Russia.

“Brussels promised sanctions would crush Russia. Instead, they destroyed Europe. Energy prices skyrocketed, competitiveness collapsed and Europe is falling behind,” he wrote in X newspaper.
Orbán emphasized that this is the price to pay for bad decisions, and therefore negotiations are necessary rather than escalating the situation.
Mr. Lavrov announced Russia's response to Western sanctions
From the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the Hungarian government has always supported a quick settlement by peaceful means. Orban has repeatedly noted that military actions in the neighboring country and Western sanctions against Russia have caused losses to the Hungarian economy of between 20 billion and 30 billion euros.
