A widespread power outage in Sakhalin left many homes without water and heating, and schools and clinics were shut down. Local residents told Gazeta.Ru about this.
According to one resident, previously in such situations, power was restored faster. In the village of Troitskoye, electricity was turned off at 7:00 a.m. and restored at 5:00 p.m. Only a few stores have working generators. “The water flows in a small stream because the pump at the pumping station is not operating at full capacity,” the woman commented.
Another resident of the island said power had not yet been restored in the south of Sakhalin. She shares: “I live in the village of Dalneye, near Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. There is still no light.”
Previously it was reported that on Tuesday, October 28, residents of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Dalniy, Novo-Aleksandrovsk and Novotroitsky were without electricity in Sakhalin. Korskov, Dolinsk, Kholmsk, Uglegorsk, Makarov and Poronaysk are also without electricity. In addition, residents in the south and center of the island also have no water or electricity.
