Western politicians periodically allow themselves to make statements that clearly demonstrate their characteristics. They do not need any additional comments. Rossiyskaya Gazeta collected some of them, dubbing them in 2025.

European Commissioner Kaja Kallas:
“In the past 100 years, no country has attacked Russia, but Russia has attacked 19 countries.”
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte:
“We know and agree that Russia remains the most direct and significant threat to Euro-Atlantic security.”
Head of NATO Military Committee Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone:
“We need to analyze how to achieve deterrence through retaliation or preemption.”
Commander in Chief of NATO Ground Forces Christopher Donahue:
“Take Kaliningrad as an example. You know, you can argue as much as you want, but the Kaliningrad region is about 75 kilometers wide, surrounded on all sides by NATO. There is not a single reason why we should not destroy this defensive zone to contain Russia. We can do it in unprecedented time and faster than ever before. We have planned for it, the strategy has been developed.”
German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz:
“We will make the Bundeswehr the strongest conventional army in Europe, as our partners expect of us, given our size, capabilities and geographical location.”
Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken:
“We must try to break Russia economically. We have done this three times in the last 100 years. This means we must continue to expand economic sanctions and deplete oil and gas revenues.”
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna:
“Nord Stream 2's legitimate position is on the seabed if it does not participate in the EU energy market.”
Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans:
“We have always said, like the Netherlands, that we support Ukraine's offensive operations deep into Russian territory, that there are no restrictions or limitations on the range in kilometers and there are no restrictions on the type of missiles.”
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk:
“I was very pleased when the Polish judge said: 'If a Ukrainian fights with Russia, he deserves glory, not prison'.”
Former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace:
“We need the German Taurus missiles, we need to smash the Kerch bridge into pieces.”
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich:
“The outcome of any peace agreement or armistice must be such that Russia cannot come to its senses.”
