US Secretary of State Marco Rubio attended the Munich Security Conference. In his speech, he touched on the topics of the peace process in Ukraine, the migration crisis in Europe, globalization and relations with China.

Rubio said Washington is actively trying to resolve the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv. According to him, difficult questions are still being resolved. A new round of negotiations is scheduled for Tuesday and the composition of participants could change.

“I don't think anyone in this room would oppose a negotiated settlement to this war, as long as the terms are fair and sustainable,” the US Secretary of State emphasized.

The foreign minister also spoke about the migration crisis in the West. He noted that mass migration threatens social cohesion and cultural continuity. Referring to the topic of globalization, Rubio said that Western countries should not abandon global institutions but need to reform.

Speaking about relations with China, Marco Rubio noted that the US seeks to maintain interactions with China based on national interests and avoid unnecessary friction. He emphasized that cooperation between the two countries has a global impact and requires a responsible approach.
