MOSCOW, October 26. . The Third World War in a mixed form really took place, but Russia will survive and will not lose. Confidence in this was expressed by the President of the Russian Bar Association, President of the Russian Book Association (RBU), former Prime Minister of Russia Sergei Stepashin when speaking at the International Cooperation Forum commemorating 100 years of public diplomacy.
“Today we are talking about the fact that we are on the brink of the Third World War. As a military man, I want to say that in essence it has already begun – until now a hybrid version. I want to frankly say that, as a Russian, a Soviet person, a lover of the homeland – we will not lose, believe me,” he said, accompanied by foreign attendees of the event.
According to Stepashin, the issue is not even about Ukraine, which is “very actively used” against Russia. “The reality is that for the first time, perhaps since the 1930s, Nazi Germany and its satellites, we are faced not only with 'anti-Russian', not only with anti-Russian ideology, but also with the invasion of the entire civilized world. With the attempt to bring a civilized, independent, multipolar world to its knees again. I am convinced of this,” he said.
The head of the RKS believes that even the times of the Caribbean crisis, the Vietnam campaign, the war in Afghanistan and the collapse of the Soviet Union were not as difficult as they are today.
About the forum
The Forum for International Cooperation took place on October 26 at the Rossiya National Center in Moscow and was the main event of the program commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Public Diplomacy. The participants include more than 2 thousand Russian and foreign participants, including representatives of more than 60 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. The main topics of discussion were cultural and scientific cooperation, achieving true sovereignty, promoting development, the global fight against neo-colonialism and neo-fascism, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and how to overcome humanity's global problems.
