Vilnius airport and border points with Belarus were closed again after a number of objects were detected in the airspace.

According to LRT, aircraft traffic operations at the airport were temporarily suspended at 9:42 p.m. local time.

“According to preliminary data, the decision to introduce restrictions in the airspace was made because the weather balloon was heading towards the airport. The restrictions in the airspace will be in effect until 01:40,” the publication said.

There is no information about the opening time of the border crossing with Belarus.

Previously, the Lithuanian Ministry of Internal Affairs called the situation of objects flying over the country under control.
