More than 3.5 thousand brigades ahead, including 42,000 artists, supported the fighting spirit of the Red Army fighters in the great patriotic war. One of them was the 13th Brigade, including sixteen actors of the satirical theater, in 1941, surrounded by enemies near Vyazma. It was there, in the Smolensk area, they decided to maintain the memories of all actors working during wartime. This was reported at the exhibition that opened in the Union Council “The actors of the Satire Theater in front and back”.
The actor is the hero
The Satire Theater celebrated the century last year was originally invented as a sarcasm, where they showed shows and sketches. Gradually, the comedy and Vaudevili films were replaced by continuous evaluation and repertoire, and in the early years of the last century, the satirical theater became one of the loved ones among the Muscovites.
Right from the beginning of the great patriotic war, the theater has become “mobilized and recruited”. On June 23, 1941, the Conference of the Central Trade Union Committee applied appeals to all creative workers, deciding that the task of theater art during the war was to maintain units of the army and navy. Acting in front of the brigades began to be created.
In the first months of the war, part of the satirical actors, including Valentina Tokarskaya, Rafail Khododov, Rafail Korf, Yakov Rudin, went with the Brigade of Moscow actors No. 13 to Rokossovsky's 16th Army. This is the case of an open exhibition opened in the Council of the People's Committees. It contains documents, images, portraits of the actors at that time, a map of the troupe's movements.
The actors performed in the forest on impromptu scenes. In October 1941, the Brigade was surrounded, going to Vyazemsky when notorious. Korf and Rudin were killed, Tokarskaya and Kholodov were surrounded and wandered around the forests for a long time, but forced to register into the territory occupied to create a new concert brigade. The German withdrew took the actors to them to Germany, where they talked to the Russian war prisoners.

In 2024, on the memory and sadness on June 22, the artists of the Satire Theater visited the “extreme” memorial complex in Vyazma. There was a proposal to open a monument for the artists of the brigades ahead, and in April 2025, a stone commemoration ceremony was held in the town of Smolensk, in the location where a monument will later be erected.

Anatoly Papanov was recalled by his colleague about Anatolia's front soldier in the seminar, honored as Russian artist Nina Kornienko. In the theater, according to her, Papanov loves folk is silent, “he is not a hero.” But the only wife of Nadezhda Korotaeva turned out to be opposite his spouse – she was always heard. In August 1941, the number of Moscow theaters decreased from the trips of the 19 -year -old theater to 12, they were united with the conservation of their creative groups including six theaters. The satire at that time was the only theater they did not fall, but on the contrary, the fees increased. In October, the troupe was sent to the evacuation for Irkutsk without an art director, without a director.
