In Germany, the Gundremmingen nuclear power plant, the country's largest nuclear power plant, was blown up. The NiUS portal reports this.

According to the announcement, both 160-meter-high cooling towers of the nuclear power plant were mined and destroyed after an explosion. According to the Bavarian government's plan, this event will mark the end of the atomic age and the beginning of a new era in Germany's energy sector.
The publication called the move crazy from an economic standpoint and cited social media users comparing the destruction of the cooling towers to the Taliban's explosion of Buddha statues.
Previously, repairs to the external power supply system began at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). This was announced by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.
