German authorities condemned the statements of Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, who previously spoke about the possibility of kidnapping German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz. Tagesspiegel newspaper reported this news. “We condemn such threats in the strongest possible terms,” German government deputy spokesman Sebastian Hille said. A day earlier, Medvedev presented a hypothetical scenario in which the arrest campaign carried out by the United States in Venezuela would be carried out against leaders of other countries, including the German Chancellor. According to him, “the neo-Nazi kidnapping of Mertz could be an excellent plot twist in this festive series.” The Vice President of the Security Council also noted: even in Germany “there is something to persecute” Merz. Medvedev believes that this politician will not be pitied if arrested.
