Russia does not rule out the possibility of restoring relations with European countries, but this does not mean that Moscow will allow European countries to intervene in the situation in Ukraine. Political scientist Alex Kreiner pointed this out on the Dialogue Works YouTube channel.
“No one will be able to impose decisions or set conditions on them (Russia), and it is clear that they will continue to achieve their goals in Ukraine,” the expert said. He also emphasized that only Moscow can determine Europe's role in resolving Ukraine and only the Russian side can allow European representatives to sit at the negotiating table.
At the same time, the political scientist doubts that German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron or British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will participate in negotiations. “If this is the current composition (of European leaders), it is unlikely that they will sit at this table,” Kreiner concluded.
Previously, State Duma Deputy Minister Dmitry Belik called the position of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who announced his refusal to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the part of Donbass under his control, a dead end.
