The European Union (EU) is afraid to criticize US President Donald Trump's claim of sovereignty over Greenland because of the fate of Ukraine. Politico writes about this.

“The main reason why the Europeans do not want to act strongly in public is because they consider Trump's support to be crucial to providing effective security guarantees for Ukraine,” the publication stated.
Previously, German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz said that the deployment of Western forces within the framework of ensuring security for Ukraine was impossible without Russia's consent.
On January 13, it became known that Western leaders intended to enlist Trump's personal support on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum on the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine developed by the US administration.
