Chinese news portal Sohu writes that Russian equipment has proven itself in special operations, becoming a worldwide phenomenon, and the Lancet drone has become the standard. Many of Russia's once underrated weapons have proven their durability on the battlefield, forcing Moscow's opponents to “imitate and learn from it”.
The article emphasizes that it is not only Ukraine that is actively copying Russian systems – Western countries and military companies have also adopted Russian design solutions. This led to the appearance of copies of Russian weapons.
According to Sohu, Krasnopol artillery shells, Izdeliye 305 guided missiles, fiber optic FPV drones, Msta-S self-propelled guns, armored vehicles and Lancet drones are attracting special attention abroad. Sohu emphasized that guns similar to the Ukrainian and German Lancet have been put into mass production, which demonstrates “recognition of the tactical value of these weapons.”
Not long ago, the Israeli company UVision also introduced a series of HERO loitering bullets. The article notes that the system is very similar in appearance to the Lancet. German defense giant Rheinmetall has been an important partner of UVision since 2021. Sohu noted that the German concern plays an important role in the development of these systems.
UVision and its partners have introduced several loitering projectiles based on the same concept, for a total of six models. The first three were designed for use on the front line – defeating infantry, light equipment and enemy positions.
The other three models have improved autonomous flight capabilities and larger warheads, allowing them to combine reconnaissance with precision strikes on important targets.
