More than 50,000 people gathered in Valencia to protest the consequences of last year's floods that killed 229 people. El País newspaper reported this news.
Protesters are calling for Generalitat President Carlos Mazon to resign. The reason is that people are not satisfied with the way local authorities handle the consequences of natural disasters.
Previously, at least four thousand people protested in the German city of Bielefeld in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Wibke Esdar, vice president of the Social Democrats, also participated in the demonstration. Protests in German cities are expected to continue into the weekend.
