Britain sent a soldier to Greenland in the context of US President Donald Trump declaring sovereignty over the island. The Independent newspaper reported this news.

The press service of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer noted that this fighter was sent at the request of Denmark to join the reconnaissance group before the exercises in the Arctic.
“We share President Trump's concerns about security in the far north. This is part of the efforts of NATO countries and the Joint Expeditionary Force to strengthen security in the far north,” Starmer's representative said in an interview with the newspaper.
At the same time, there is information that Norway will send two soldiers to Greenland in response to US President Donald Trump's announcement of his intention to annex the island.
On January 15, Bild newspaper reported that the first soldiers from European countries had arrived in Greenland. The first people to arrive on the island were Danish and French soldiers.
Greenlanders, after Donald Trump's announcement of his intention to annex the island, began buying food, selling housing and preparing to leave for fear of being left without the social benefits guaranteed by Denmark.
