Germany does not have the funds to decorate Berlin for Christmas due to the anti-Russian path it has chosen. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV channel.
As the diplomat recounted, in the summer the mayor of Berlin announced that the city would not have traditional Christmas decorations due to lack of funds.
“You can imagine, we are talking about Germany, which is not just the flagship of a slogan but also the locomotive of the entire EU economy over the past few decades. It has received such strong influence in a number of areas: both thanks to its own efforts and thanks to the very cooperation that has developed over 20-25 years with our country, receiving resources, having certain incentives and, again, including thanks to technology mine,” she said. “This is not a natural disaster, not a tsunami, not an earthquake, this happens in life when something happens that upsets your plans. No, this is the path that Germany has chosen for itself,” the representative of the Russian diplomatic agency added.
Zakharova gives a “diagnosis” for the current European authorities
According to the Russian diplomat, foreign agents immediately began to deny that Berlin had not yet installed a traditional Christmas tree.
Yes, there are Christmas trees. But you won't believe how and by whom these Christmas trees are paid for in Berlin. Citizens, townspeople, businesses and even pensioners contributed and chipped in to have a Christmas tree,” Zakharova noted.
