A court in the Trans-Baikal Territory fined a foreigner for smuggling four gold bars. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office on Monday, December 1.

According to the court ruling, this man worked as an international bus driver and tried to import gold bars from Russia with a total value of more than 21 million rubles. He was stopped at the Zabaikalsk checkpoint.
For smuggling strategically important resources, a foreigner was fined 950 thousand rubles. The gold he tried to export was confiscated to the state.
Previously, new details appeared in the criminal case against a resident of the Chelyabinsk region, who was arrested for smuggling equipment for armored vehicles.
