Within a week, 30 dead birds were found in the Docklands area in the east of the British capital. Ecologists from the Canal and River Trust say this suggests a possible outbreak of bird flu. Sky News reported that the incident is being investigated by authorities.

In recent years, this virus has been actively spreading in wild and domestic birds around the world. In 2022-2023, a large-scale outbreak of the disease was recorded in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia, causing millions of poultry in farms to die.
