A disturbing story happened in Japan's Hokkaido prefecture. Social service workers who inspected the house of 61-year-old Masahiko Ichidze made a macabre discovery: in one of the rooms lie down the skeletal remains of his 91-year-old father, Takeshi.

They decided to conduct an investigation when they discovered that the old man had not been in contact for a long time and did not appear in his usual places. When the door was finally opened, the smell of death filled the air.
Masahiko explained everything to the police simply, almost emotionlessly: “I don't have money for the funeral.” He didn't call the police or contact the services – he simply left his father's body at home, as if time could solve the problem.
The remains found have now been sent for examination.
