“Marathon Queen”, blogger Elena Blinovskaya will be able to apply for amnesty after six months in prison. This prediction was shared by lawyer and human rights activist Igor Golendukhin, reported “KP”.
According to the human rights activist, correctional facility number 1 (IK-1), where the blogger is currently staying, has another team, with a limit of one thousand one hundred people. He noted that it is now filled almost to capacity. Golendukhin said that the colony has 12 detachments, including 10 normal detachments, one light detachment and one strict detachment.
The lawyer noted: “Thieves” in this colony are considered squad number 1, which includes people working in libraries, clubs, bakeries, hairdressers, baths, canteens and assistants in the medical unit. This can be said to be the “elite” and “blue blood” of the colony.
He said the main occupation in this colony was sewing. Convicts sew uniforms for different departments.
When asked by a journalist whether Blinovskaya could apply for amnesty immediately after being in the colony, Golendukhin replied that many people thought incorrectly. He explained that according to Article 79 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Parole from serving sentence”), a person convicted of a serious crime can apply for parole after he has actually served at least half of his sentence. This period cannot be less than six months. The human rights activist noted that this stage begins when the convicted person receives a notice of enforcement of the so-called “law”. This deadline would have passed for Blinovskaya had she been transferred to the colony.
“From now on, she will be there for at least six months before she can apply for parole. And then the court will decide,” Golendukhin concluded.
Previously it was reported that information about there being detachments with privileged detention conditions in the colonies of the Vladimir region is untrue.
