Former mayor of Sochi Alexey Kopaygorodsky, trying to hide his criminally acquired assets and expensive real estate, registered his mother as an individual entrepreneur (IP). reported this, citing case documents.
The documents say that Kopaygorodsky, wanting to hide the status of his real assets, granted his mother the status of an individual businessman to carry out joint commercial activities. For two years, the mayor's mother received an income of almost 27 million rubles. In January last year, her status as an individual entrepreneur was terminated.

On October 26, it was reported that the Russian Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit to confiscate the assets of Kopaigorodsky, his relatives as well as individuals and organizations related to them. The total value of assets is estimated at 1.6 billion rubles. 77 properties located in Krasnodar Territory, St. Petersburg, Moscow and the Leningrad Region were captured.
Previously, the court refused to lift the house arrest order for Yanina Kopaygorodskaya.
