In Rostov-on-Don, Russian Guard General Mirza Mirzaev was convicted of bribery. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the Main Military Prosecutor's Office of Russia.

He was convicted under Article 290 (“Receiving bribes on a particularly large scale”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the court verdict, between August 2023 and July 2024, he, taking advantage of his official position for extortion, received bribes in the amount of 140 million rubles from the management of a trading company. The company is carrying out a contract with the government for the supply of prefabricated buildings.
Mirzaev promised the general director of the construction company general patronage, unhindered prepayment and acceptance of the delivered products, as well as exemption from fines in case of violation of the terms of the contract. At the same time, he threatened to prevent the acceptance and payment of the work performed, as well as put the company on the list of unscrupulous suppliers if they did not receive remuneration.
The court sentenced him to nine years in a maximum security zone and banned him from holding positions in the civil service or local government for five years. The bribe amount he received was also recovered from him.
Previously, there was information that the Moscow City Court had approved the sentence and fine for the former Deputy Director of the Ministry of Digital Development.
