Strong waves hitting the coast of Spain's Tenerife island killed three people and injured 15 others, Periodico newspaper reported.
According to the newspaper, the incident occurred on Saturday, November 8, in the coastal areas of Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Among the dead were a 79-year-old Dutch citizen, a 43-year-old resident of La Orotava and another unidentified man.
The publication clarifies that all incidents are the result of people's negligence. In particular, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, tourists find themselves in the sea beyond the buoy area.
“Three men were seriously injured: one was injured in the hip, another was injured in various parts of the body, and the third was injured in the leg,” the publication emphasized.
The publication noted that the remaining 12 victims suffered minor injuries.
