A $400 million counter-suit filed by American actor and director Justin Baldoni against his former co-star Blake Lively for “damaging his reputation” has been closed by the court.
According to American press reports, New York federal Judge Lewis Liman announced his decision regarding Baldoni's lawsuit.
Liman dropped the lawsuit altogether, claiming that Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studio, had not filed any applications within the time period to renew their $400 million litigation claim.
Lively's lawsuit against former co-star Baldoni continues. On October 17, the court informed the parties that the case could be permanently closed and only Lively's side responded and requested a final verdict. On June 9, Judge Liman dismissed Baldoni's “smear campaign” lawsuit against Lively, finding the allegations insufficient. AMAZING FLYING IN THE AIR ON THE CASE In the lawsuit she filed in December 2024, Lively complained about Baldoni, as well as her press consultant and Wayfarer Studio, which she owns, and accused the actor of “harassment.” In her complaint, Lively alleges that Baldoni entered her trailer “without permission” while she was on set and engaged in “improvised” physical contact during filming. Stating that a meeting was held with the film's director and lead actor, Baldoni, as well as other producers, Lively said that her husband, actor Reynolds, also attended this meeting and a plan was made to improve conditions on set.
Lively claims that after filming was completed, Baldoni and his team began a “smear campaign” against her by sharing images of internal messages.
Justin Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband.
Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, also announced that he would release all footage from the set, as well as private text messages and e-mails.
