Irmak Ünal announces he has cancer: I didn't know it would help me rebuild

Irmak Ünal, who has been living in seclusion in Bali for a long time, said she has been fighting breast cancer for 10 months.

Irmak Ünal, daughter of master actor Cihan Ünal, has lived a reclusive life for a long time. The famous name who quit acting and settled in Bali announced that she had breast cancer.

Unal, a mother of two, said she has been fighting cancer for 10 months and shared her progress with photos.

The 48-year-old famous actress said: “When I heard the words 'the result was breast cancer', it was the first day of the new year… it was a surprise! And I had no idea that it would completely destroy me and rebuild me at the same time. This journey was both very real, very difficult, and transformative in a way that is hard to explain…”

Reminding that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ünal emphasized the importance of early diagnosis in her post: “During this process, I learned this very clearly: Early diagnosis truly saves lives. Knowledge does not mean fear, it means power.”

Ünal also sent special thanks to the doctor who accompanied him throughout the treatment process and said: “For me, healing is now an art: a little faith, a little science, completely a matter of the heart.”

Calling out those struggling with cancer like himself, Irmak Ünal said: “Healing is not a straight line, but there is a miraculous grace in it when you allow it. Even if I say 'oh, I'm alone, I walk alone' at the door of the operating room, I'm never alone.”

Ünal also thanked his family and loved ones by saying, “I am grateful to my sister, mother, children, family and friends for walking this path with me. After all, we are all just walking together on the road home.”

Irmak Ünal, who entered a new era with short hair, ended her post with the following sentence: “Here I am… with short hair, an open heart, aware that she is grateful and blessed in every moment. A new day, a new me.”
