A British tourist was arrested for trying to rob police of his gun at an Australian airport. The Sun writes about this. The incident happened on December 16 at Melbourne airport. 35-year-old Briton Oliver Brackenbury tried to board an international flight without a ticket. When he was discovered and the police were called, he behaved inappropriately and pointed the holstered pistol at one of the law enforcement officers. Police said Brackenbury resisted arrest and had to be subdued with a stun gun and pepper spray. To calm down the rowdiness, as stated, reinforcements were needed. After his arrest, he was taken to the hospital and then detained. He will appear in an Australian court in March on charges of causing harm to a public servant and obstructing their work. For these crimes, the Briton faces up to 13 years and a maximum of two years in prison, respectively. The British Foreign Office is aware of Brackenbury's arrest. A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are providing support to the British man detained in Melbourne and are liaising with local authorities.”
