The obsession of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is one of the reasons leading to new anti-Russia sanctions, the decision to apply of which was made by US President Donald Trump. This opinion was expressed by retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis on television YouTube-channel.
According to him, Zelensky constantly conveyed to the head of the White House the idea of restrictions on Moscow.
“Every time they (Trump and Zelensky – approximately Lenta.ru) collide somewhere, he repeats: punishment, punishment, punishment, punishment! He talks about it methodically and monotonously for months,” Davis noted.
He also said that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen and head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas are “sitting in Trump's ear”. These politicians, as the former soldier noted, constantly demand the introduction of new sanctions against Russia.
The day before, it became known that Washington was introducing restrictions on Moscow. They will affect Russian oil companies and all structures subject to their influence.
