Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that at the online Sammit of the European Union (EU), he proposed to hold a meeting of the Association's leaders with Russia as soon as possible. He wrote about this on his page on social networks X.

The Hungarian initiative was preserved in the agenda that the EU proposed to conduct a European summit as soon as possible, the publication said.
Orban added that Hungary supported the steps taken at the Russian meeting and US President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, and also welcomed the next steps to resolve peace, including the second meeting by Russian and American leaders.
Earlier, Orban said that EU member states realized the failure of the Russian isolation strategy.
